Making Connections in Local Food
The Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission and the Allegheny County Conservation District invite you to join them in learning from experts how to connect with local businesses buying locally produced foods.
• Introduce small producers, rural agencies serving small businesses, and farm agencies to the requirements of businesses that purchase local food.
• Build a regional network of interested parties that allows connections across the ten-county region, a resource for more isolated communities.
• Introduce a program that is using produce “seconds” to provide both a training program for adults and provide healthy meals for students.
• Introduce other local resources (CSA and Food Enterprise Center) to people across the region.
